You must have a 4WD vehicle to book at Snowy River Cabins
Snowy River Cabins is an out of the way 4WD access farmstay that you find at the end of a 20km gravel road which gets rough and has causeways that can get quite deep. It's stunning but it's not for everyone. It's tech free with no mobile service, internet or TVs. At around 45 minutes from both Cooma and Jindabyne, make sure you bring everything you need with you, and have plenty of fuel in your 4WD as there are no shops nearby.
The secluded cabins, built from solid cedar logs using traditional Scandinavian building methods, are nestled into the foothills of the Snowy Mountains High Country, and look over the legendary Snowy River. They are self contained, simple and private. Due to demand across peak winter and holidays, bookings are restricted during these periods to two night weekends, check in Friday, check out Sunday or 5 night week stays check in Sunday, check out Friday.
Standard cabins can sleep a maximum of 6 occupants, with a double bed in a private bedroom and two bunk beds in a common studio area. The large cabin can sleep a maximum of 8 occupants, with a double bed in a private bedroom, a set of bunks in a second bedroom and two bunk beds in the common studio area.
Each cabin has its own kitchen and bathroom. Kitchens have a small oven with two hotplates, a 220L fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee pod machine (K-fee pod system) and a full compliment of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
All cabin bookings include bathmat and hand-towel, tea towels, doonas and blankets. Bed linen and towel hire is an optional extra and must be confirmed at the time of your booking. Our cabins are heated and built for cold weather and even on the coldest nights most people are turning the heating down.
We are pet friendly and also have day kennels available for day trips where you can't take your best mate. We do have additional rules for pets to make sure you have a great stay which can be found on our FAQ page.
Each cabin is situated about 50m from the neighbouring cabin, and the surrounding bush provides a privacy screen, it really feels like your own piece of paradise sitting out by the campfire under the stars. You are welcome to scavenge for firewood from around the cabins or bring your own. Please be aware that chainsaws are not allowed on the property and please respect revegetation areas by not removing timber from these sign posted areas.
